strawberry trifle

this here is a family favorite.... we hope you enjoy too!!

Strawberry Trifle

First, I wash then cut my strawberries. 1 large package or 2 small should be plenty, I always add a little extra.

Add sugar, stir them up, then put in the fridge

Mix Cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth

Once the cream cheese and sugar are smooth, add sour cream, vanilla and almond extract

In a separate bowl, beat vanilla, Sugar and heavy cream until the mixture is stiff

Make sure it forms stiff peaks, then fold this heavy cream mixture into the cream cheese mixture

Cube the angel food cake into cubs

Layer angel food cake on the bottom of a trifle dish

Add combined heavy cream cheese mixture, then top that with strawberries and repeat.

Finished! Refrigerate for a few hours and let it chill until served. Enjoy!

pumpkin bars

i can not contain my excitement for fall. the smells, the colors, the foods, the football, the layering... the everything! i stocked up on some fall scents for my home. my favorite right now is the roasted marshmallow plug in, and scarlet pumpkin hand soap - both from bath and body works. i thought since it was marshmallow it would be too much, but no.. it is a m a z i n g. i have been craving the fall pumpkin taste ever since its gotten a little cooler, even though it is still 85 degrees. i made one of my favorite fall desserts, pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting. delectable might i add.

Pumpkin Bars

2 cup flour
2 cup sugar
2 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
2 t. cinnamon
1 T pumpkin pie spice
2 cup pumpkin puree
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs

Frosting

1 block of cream cheese + 3 TB
6 T. melted butter
1 t. cream
1 t. vanilla
2 cup powder sugar
* add milk or powdered sugar if needed for the best consistency

Mix all dry ingredients, then add wet ingredients. Grease cookie pan and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. let it cool.
Top with frosting. If you want to add semisweet chocolate chips to the recipe you can, I don't like tons of chocolates so i just sprinkle mini semisweet chocolate chips on top.
